Kenya Police FC's inaugural CAF Confederation Cup campaign came to a close on Friday after a 2-1 defeat to Zamalek SC at Cairo International Stadium. Despite a hard-fought first half, second-half goals from Ahmed Mostafa and Naser Abd sealed Zamalek’s progress, leaving the Law Enforcers with valuable lessons from their debut continental experience.

Kenya Police FC’s debut in continental football came to an end on Friday night, as they were beaten 2-1 by Zamalek SC at the Cairo International Stadium, sealing their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Following a 1-0 loss in the first leg at home in Nairobi, the Law Enforcers faced an uphill battle to overturn the deficit on Zamalek’s turf. It proved to be a tough challenge against the defending champions of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite a spirited first half where they managed to hold off the Egyptian giants, Kenya Police FC found themselves under constant pressure. The breakthrough came in the 55th minute when Zamalek's star man, Ahmed Mostafa, popularly known as Zizo, finished off a swift counter-attack with a powerful strike from the left.

Zamalek doubled their lead just five minutes later. A mistake by Musa Mohammed, who passed the ball back to goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, allowed Naser Abd to pounce on the loose ball and fire it into the net, making it 2-0.

Although Jesse Were pulled one back for Kenya Police FC in the 75th minute, scoring his first goal for the club, it was too late to inspire a comeback. Zamalek's game management kept Kenya Police at bay, and the match ended with a 2-0 victory, giving the Egyptian side a 3-1 win on aggregate.

Kenya Police FC’s campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup may have ended, but their debut run against seasoned continental opponents like Zamalek SC will serve as valuable experience for the team moving forward.
