Sharks stay unbeaten, Ulinzi Stars equalize late in FKF Premier League thrillers

Kariobangi Sharks were the standout performers on a high-scoring FKF Premier League Sunday, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Murang’a Seal. The win, their second consecutive triumph, moves them to the top of the league table with seven points, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

Sharks, fresh from a comeback win against Tusker the previous weekend, showed no mercy to their visitors. Ally Salum opened the scoring in the 30th minute, marking his third goal in two matches. Keith Imbali, another standout from their Saturday clash, doubled the lead in the 71st minute. Andreas Odhiambo put the game beyond doubt with a third goal in the 78th minute, condemning Murang’a Seal to their second consecutive defeat.

Meanwhile, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, drama unfolded as Ulinzi Stars salvaged a 2-2 draw against Shabana, courtesy of a last-gasp equalizer from defender Peter Glen Wafula. Shabana had taken the lead through Matthew Tegisi, who scored twice after Ulinzi’s Staphod Odhiambo opened the scoring early on. Wafula's stoppage-time header off a Telena Ochieng cross denied Shabana their first win of the season.

Elsewhere, Kakamega Homeboyz staged an impressive comeback to draw 2-2 against Tusker at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Tusker raced to a 2-0 lead in the first half, thanks to a brace from Ryan Ogam, but Homeboyz clawed their way back into the match. Hillary Otieno halved the deficit just before the break, and new signing Pius Wangi equalized in the second half to earn Homeboyz a valuable point.

As the FKF Premier League season gathers pace, Sunday’s action provided plenty of excitement, with teams battling hard for early supremacy.
