Kenya's hit squad set for Africa Elite Boxing Championships in Kinshasa

Kenya's boxing team, known as the "Hit Squad," departed for Kinshasa, DR Congo, earlier today to compete in the Africa Elite Boxing Championships. The event, which started officially on October 14 will run until the 27th and will see top boxers from across the continent face off in various weight categories.

Morocco to defend title

Meanwhile, Morocco, the defending champions, will also participate in the tournament. The Secretary-General of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation (FRMB), Zoubida Wissam, confirmed their presence at the championships but did not provide details on their squad's lineup.

“We will definitely be there,” Wissam stated.

Morocco dominated last year's event in Yaoundé, Cameroon, securing eight gold, two silver, and three bronze medals to clinch the overall title. They will look to replicate their success in Kinshasa as they face fierce competition from other African nations.
