CAF team conducts second inspection for CHAN 2024 in East Africa

CAF has begun its second round of inspections in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya to evaluate preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, set to take place in February 2025. The visits focus on ensuring facilities meet international standards for the prestigious tournament.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has started its second round of inspection visits to Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. The visits are to evaluate preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024. The tournament, originally scheduled for 2024, will now take place from February 1 to February 24, 2025.
The CAF delegation, which includes officials from various departments, is visiting the three host countries from November 22 to November 30. They are working alongside local football and government representatives to review progress and pinpoint areas for improvement.

Key areas under review include stadiums, training grounds, hotels, airports, and other facilities. The goal is to ensure all venues meet the high standards required for CAF competitions.
This is the second inspection visit to the region. The first took place in September 2024 and included CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe.
The current visit began in Uganda, where the CAF team presented their progress report to First Lady and Education and Sports Minister Hon. Janet Museveni, who also chairs the Local Organizing Committee.
After Uganda, the delegation will head to Tanzania from November 24 to November 27. The final stop will be in Kenya from November 27 to November 30.
CAF’s inspection team includes representatives from departments such as marketing, communications, safety and security, medical, and protocol.

- Kampala, Uganda: November 21–24
- Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: November 24–27
- Nairobi, Kenya: November 27–30
In addition to CHAN 2024, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya are also preparing to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
