No reason was provided for his removal.
Bakosoro, a prominent politician from Western Equatoria State, previously served as the Minister of Public Service in the transitional government.
He rejoined the SPLM on July 15, 2021, after leaving his South Sudan Movement for Change (SSMC) Party, which was part of the transitional government of national unity.
Chol Ajongo, who had been serving as South Sudan's ambassador to Kenya since 2016, has now been appointed to replace Bakosoro.
Ajongo, a lawyer turned career diplomat, is known for his long-standing service in Nairobi.
