Tanzanian parliament honours President Samia with special award for exemplary leadership

Samia commended the MPs for their continued commitment to representing the interests of their constituents both within and beyond the parliamentary chamber.
The Tanzanian parliament on Saturday conferred a special honorary award on President Samia Suluhu Hassan, recognising her exemplary leadership in promoting inclusive development and national progress.
The award was presented in the national capital of Dodoma by Speaker of Parliament Tulia Ackson, who praised Samia for her transformative leadership, according to a statement by the Directorate of Presidential Communications.

Ackson said the honour, bestowed on behalf of all the members of parliament, symbolised their collective recognition and respect for the president's achievements.
"Under President Samia's stewardship, Tanzania has undergone significant transformation," Ackson said, citing the implementation of major strategic projects and notable progress across key sectors including education, health, mining, tourism, transportation, agriculture, energy, and international diplomacy.
In her acceptance speech, Samia expressed gratitude to the parliament for its support and oversight role, particularly through budget deliberations, legislative actions, and constructive recommendations that have enhanced government performance.
She also commended the MPs for their continued commitment to representing the interests of their constituents both within and beyond the parliamentary chamber.
