With Wachira’s leadership, Fulgo Mobile hopes to establish itself as a key player in Kenya’s growing mobile market, offering accessible, high-quality technology to a broad audience.

Australian-owned company Fulgo Mobile has expanded to Kenya and appointed communication specialist Muthoni Wachira as its new country manager, effective April 7, 2025.

Founded in 2022, Fulgo Mobile specialises in the production of smartphones and mobile accessories. The company prides itself on offering high-quality, reliable devices at affordable prices, bridging the gap in the African mobile technology market.

With over 14 years of professional experience, Wachira brings a wealth of expertise in brand strategy, communications, and public relations, having worked across print and digital media, politics, and current affairs. She has notably worked with several agencies and organisations, contributing to the launch of top brand campaigns in the Kenyan market.

In her new role, she will manage Fulgo Mobile’s operations, staff, programmes and partnerships in Kenya and oversee its broader East African regional operations.

“I shall be the key representative and liaison with the local authorities, media, and other stakeholders,” Wachira said, outlining her role in ensuring smooth operations and communication between the company and its key partners.

Prior to her appointment at Fulgo Mobile, Wachira served as the Corporate Communications Manager at Del Monte Europe and Africa and as Head of Corporate Communications and Projects Manager at OPPO East Africa.

Fulgo Mobile is also known for providing cutting-edge technology, including post-quantum-enhanced security, in its mobile devices.

It aims to address the gap in the African market by offering high-quality and affordable smartphones.

“At Fulgo Mobile, we understand the power of technology to transform lives and bridge gaps. With a vision to become Africa’s largest producer of smartphone devices and accessories, we are committed to delivering innovative, reliable, and affordable products that cater to the diverse needs of our customers across the continent,” the company says on its website.
