President William Ruto, in his address at the 24th COMESA Summit, noted that Africa contributes 3 per cent to global trade, with intra-African trade at just 14 per cent compared to Europe’s 70 per cent and Asia’s 60 per cent. He said barriers and limited integration hinder progress, stressing that regional unity and open borders are key to building value chains, creating wealth, and supporting inclusive growth.
