Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan inaugurated the Construction and Real Estate Expo on Thursday, marking it as the largest event of its kind in East Africa. Held at BBS Mall in Eastleigh, the three-day expo commenced on November 30 and will run until December 3 from 10 am to 2 pm daily.
In his address, MP Yusuf stressed the transformative impact of BBS Mall on Eastleigh, elevating it from a vibrant local hub to a global trading center rivaling major cities worldwide. He lauded the mall as the flagship driving Eastleigh's economy and propelling it to high competitiveness in property development.

"Eastleigh has grown rapidly owing to new developments that have changed and transformed the neighborhood, but the crown jewel is the BBS Mall. It is the flagship that is driving the economy of Eastleigh," stated MP Yusuf.
He praised the mall for attracting numerous exhibitors and customers to the expo, terming it a game-changer in the real estate sector. The MP highlighted the thriving property business amid an explosion of property development, positioning Eastleigh as a significant investment center for property.
MP Hassan urged investors to capitalise on the launch of BSS Mall and invest in Eastleigh, emphasising the resources available to boost development projects. He emphasized the holistic nature of property development, shaping communities and fostering economic vitality.
"In fact, there is no better opportunity and time to invest in property. Property development is not about constructing buildings but shaping communities, fostering economic vitality, and creating opportunities for people to live in a better place called home," added MP Yusuf.
Hussein Mohamed, State House Spokesperson, joined the conversation, highlighting Eastleigh's status as a dynamic economic investment destination in Kenya and East Africa. He noted the unmatched diversity of retail and real estate development potential, with over 92 shopping centers operational and more under construction within a 2.2 km radius.
Hussein dispelled safety concerns, asserting that Eastleigh is one of the safest neighborhoods in Kenya. He attributed this achievement to the collaborative efforts of local leadership and the government, highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit of Eastleigh's historically underserved population.
