Jambojet to launch Mombasa-Zanzibar flight route on July 1

By |

It further said the flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Jambojet has announced the inauguration of a new flight route from Mombasa to Zanzibar, commencing on July 1, 2024.

This will mark Jambojet’s 8th destination across the regional network.

It further said the flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“The one-way flight will cost Sh17,806 at a discounted rate, inclusive of taxes.”

The airline revealed that it chose to depart from Moi International Airport in Mombasa instead of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi to address the underserved or unserved markets.

“Mombasa is our secondary hub and we have seen the opportunity to open up the coastal city to other parts of the country and region,” part of the statement read.

To travel to Zanzibar, Jambojet has encouraged its customers to use the multi-city feature booking on their website.

“Our customers will need to have a valid passport and a valid yellow fever certificate,” the airline noted.

To attract customers for July 1, 2024, the airline has also announced a Lipa pole pole segment on its website.

Those wishing to fly to Zanzibar can start paying for the flight from as low as Sh3,000.

Jambojet’s CEO Karanja Ndegwa said the decision to launch the Mombasa - Zanzibar route will strengthen relations between Kenya and Tanzania.

“Since its inception, Jambojet has been focusing on connecting people in the underserved or unserved routes. Our decision to launch the Mombasa - Zanzibar route is poised to strengthen relations between the two countries, bolstering tourism, trade and other investments. The cultural heritage, warmth and richness of Zanzibar have for aeons attracted travellers from across the world and we are glad to be playing a part in that journey while showcasing Mombasa’s pristine offering as our secondary hub,” he said.

As Jambojet prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary in April, the introduction of this new route represents a significant milestone for the airline in expanding its regional footprint and enhancing connectivity for travelers.
