“Experience seamless access and save time with this all-in-one solution. All KRA services are now in one place,” the authority said on Saturday.
It noted that through the platform, users can manage and view their taxpayer profile and access comprehensive information on income, deductions, compliance status, and personal details.
“Streamline your tax responsibilities by making secure and direct payments through an efficient online platform, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience for fulfilling your tax obligations,” the authority said.
Additionally, users can also switch between individual and business accounts with flexibility and manage diverse tax obligations seamlessly.
Recently, the authority launched an Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS) Lite platform designed to enable non-VAT registered taxpayers to electronically generate and send their invoices to KRA through an easy-to-use interface.
Under this option, businesses can raise eTIMS invoices via the eCitizen platform at ecitizen.kra.go.ke or use USSD option by dialling *222#.
The Finance Act 2023 introduced eTIMS which is intended to provide taxpayers with a simple, convenient, and flexible electronic invoicing option.
The various eTIMS solutions available to taxpayers include an online portal, eTIMS Client, virtual sales control unit, and online sales control unit.
Initially, via a public notice dated November 7, 2023, all businesses had to be eTIMS compliant by January 1, 2024.
However, on December 27, 2023, KRA extended the window for compliance to March 31, 2024, to allow more businesses to onboard to eTIMS.
The authority noted that there has been an outcry from sections of the public, especially small-scale entrepreneurs and the informal sector, who are struggling to onboard onto eTIMS.
Some of the challenges the businesses have cited include a lack of access to smartphones and/or computers and poor internet connectivity.
KRA hopes that the launch of the eTIMS lite platform will address some of the challenges small-scale taxpayers have been facing, which have negatively affected the adoption and uptake of eTIMS in the past.
