Juja MP George Koimburi faces forgery charges dating back to 1994
Koimburi was arrested outside his home on Tuesday morning and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for questioning.
Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi, who was arrested on Tuesday, faces multiple charges related to forging academic certificates, some dating back to 1994.
Koimburi appeared at the Kiambu Law Courts on Wednesday and was presented with six counts of forgery and an additional charge for skipping court sessions.

According to the charge sheet, he allegedly forged a Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) certificate between November and December 1994 to obtain a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Another charge states that between September 2011 and April 2012, Koimburi forged a certificate of participation in the East African Universities Accession Project from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
The lawmaker is also accused of securing an allegedly forged certificate from JKUAT's School of Human Resource Development during the same period.
The prosecution claims that on March 8, 2021, Koimburi knowingly presented a forged KCSE certificate at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
On the same day, he allegedly presented the two JKUAT certificates to EACC.
Koimburi was arrested outside his home on Tuesday morning and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for questioning.
His arrest comes days after he accused the government of spending Sh13 billion campaigning for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in the African Union Commission (AUC) elections.
His lawyer, Ndegwa Njiru, linked the arrest to Koimburi's remarks on the AUC elections, where Raila lost to Djibouti's Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.
