Two General Service Unit (GSU) officers lost their lives today along the Daadab Garissa Road after their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED).

Two General Service Unit (GSU) officers lost their lives today along the Daadab Garissa Road after their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED), with four others sustaining severe injuries.

The officers, en route to supervise the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations, inadvertently triggered a remote-controlled IED, suspected to have been planted by al-Shabaab militants. The harrowing incident underscores the persistent danger posed by such explosive devices and the grave consequences they entail.
