Raila criticizes Ruto's Judiciary remarks

ODM leader Raila Odinga has strongly criticized President William Ruto's recent remarks, where he vowed to ignore stay orders from judges. In a statement today, Raila expressed concern about the president's confrontational approach, warning of serious repercussions for Kenya's constitutional democracy.

Raila accused Ruto of trying to usurp the powers of the Judiciary after gaining control of parliament. He claimed Ruto's intention was to have full control over the Judiciary, influencing its decisions and compromising its independence.

Acknowledging imperfections within the Judiciary, Raila asserted that the executive branch, led by Ruto, also faced corruption issues. He urged the Judiciary to stand firm in defending professionalism, independence, the rule of law, and constitutionalism.
