Grade 6 learners have until February 28 to register for 2025 national exams
This portal will be open for registration from January 27 until February 28, 2025.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that registration for the 2025 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) will begin on Monday, January 27, 2025.
The registration period according to KNEC CEO David Njegere, will run until February 28, 2025.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Njegere confirmed that all learners in Grade 6 will need to register afresh for the assessments through the KPSEA registration portal.
This portal will be open for registration from January 27 until February 28, 2025.
Njegere noted that only eligible learners will be allowed to register for the exams and that presenting ghost candidates will be considered an assessment malpractice, leading to serious consequences, including the de-registration of the school as a KNEC assessment centre.
"Correction of candidates' bio-data must be effected during registration (where applicable), to ensure accuracy of the data submitted," he added.
The data submitted during registration must match the information on the learner's birth certificate, including their names, gender, year of birth, citizenship, and religious education options.
For learners with special needs, the registration will also include information on the specific accommodations needed.
This includes visual impairment (for blind candidates requiring Braille), low vision (for those needing large print papers), and hearing impairment (for those requiring special accommodations for hearing loss).
Njegere further stated that eligible KPSEA candidates must first be registered in the Grade 6 portal to be assigned an Assessment Number.
Without this number, candidates will not be able to complete their registration for the KPSEA.
Once the Assessment Number is assigned, heads of institutions will be able to proceed with the registration.
Additionally, heads of institutions must ensure that School-Based Assessment (SBA) scores for Grades 4 and 5 are uploaded to the portal for all candidates intending to sit the KPSEA.
For KILEA candidates, institutions will register learners based on their readiness, as guided by the teachers, through the KILEA Registration portal.
