KUCCPS opens portal, announces two-week window for KMTC applications

Students interested in applying are required to log in to the KUCCPS Students’ Portal, where they can view detailed programme requirements and submit their applications online.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for students seeking admission into Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) programmes, giving aspiring medical professionals a two-week window to apply.

The portal opened on October 1 and will close on October 14, 2025, offering students an opportunity to join a wide range of health science courses at both certificate and diploma levels across KMTC campuses nationwide.

KUCCPS said the placement exercise covers numerous programmes designed to equip students with the skills required in Kenya’s growing healthcare sector.

Certificate courses available include Medical Engineering, Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine, Health Records and Information Technology, Emergency Medical Technician, Public Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, Community Health Assistant, and Health Insurance Management.

Diploma programmes include Mortuary Science, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, Community Health, Radiography and Imaging, Public Health, Medical Social Work, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Health Counselling, Medical Engineering, Pharmacy, Health Records and Information Technology, Orthopaedic Technology, Speech and Language Therapy, and Health Promotion.

Students interested in applying are required to log in to the KUCCPS Students’ Portal, where they can view detailed programme requirements and submit their applications online.

Eligibility for certificate courses requires a minimum grade of C- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with specific cluster subject qualifications, while diploma courses require at least a C with relevant cluster grades.

Candidates applying for upgrading courses must already hold a certificate in the relevant field, and those applying for Higher Diploma programmes must have completed a diploma in the corresponding area.

The exercise is expected to benefit hundreds of students and contribute to meeting Kenya’s rising demand for skilled healthcare professionals.

KMTC is one of the country’s largest medical training institutions, producing graduates who serve in hospitals, clinics, and community health units across the nation, supporting the government’s universal health coverage goals.
