Gor Mahia have officially appointed Croatian coach Sinisa Mihic, 48, as the new head coach of the 21-time Kenyan Premier League champions, taking over from interim head coach Zedekiah "Zico" Otieno.
This confirmation ends weeks of speculation about a coaching change within the Green Army, with Mihic now tasked with steering the club through the remainder of the season. The uncertainty surrounding Zico’s future had set the stage for this dramatic development in the club’s coaching landscape.
The newly appointed coach boasts an impressive résumé, having managed Kuwait’s Al Fahaheel (2014–2016), Al Shabab (2019–2020), and Croatia’s NK Crikvenica (January–June 2021). His most recent role was as assistant manager at Al Salmiyah SC, a four-time Kuwaiti Premier League champion, where he served for just 16 days (12–28 February 2022). Mihic holds a UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching qualification in Europe.
