Pressure mounts on AFC Leopards technical bench after third consecutive draw

Pressure is mounting on AFC Leopards’ technical bench after fans issued warning letters to the coaching staff over what they described as “unsatisfactory performance.”
On October 13, a section of Leopards’ supporters addressed letters to head coach Fred Ambani, assistant coach Kennedy Wendo, and fitness trainer Vincent Mbwavi, giving them two matches to turn the team’s fortunes around.

The fans accused the bench of failing to improve results and address tactical and dressing-room issues, warning that failure to win upcoming league fixtures against Bandari and KCB would prompt calls for their dismissal.
In a letter to assistant coach Kennedy Wendo, the supporters wrote: “We therefore inform you that failure to see improvement in the next league matches against Bandari and KCB, we will have no choice but to call on you to terminate your contract with AFC Leopards Sports Club with immediate effect.”
Following Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against Bandari — Leopards’ third consecutive stalemate this season — assistant coach Kennedy Wendo faced the media after Ambani declined to speak. Wendo distanced himself from the fans’ warning, saying he had not received any official communication.
“So far, there is no official letter that I have received from anywhere giving me a specific time to deliver results. Those are unnecessary pressures, and I cannot venture into them,” Wendo said. “But again, three consecutive draws have to raise concerns among the fans because they are passionate about their team. They pay to watch and deserve value for it. We are going back to the drawing board; good things take time.”
With the Football Kenya Federation temporarily suspending league matches as the country mourns the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, Wendo expressed optimism that the break would give the technical bench time to regroup and make necessary adjustments.
AFC Leopards began the season with a 1-1 draw against Sofapaka, followed by a 2-2 result with Posta Rangers, and the latest goalless stalemate with Bandari. The team remains winless after three outings, leaving fans demanding swift improvement from the coaching staff.
