Three referees from Kenya have been chosen to officiate at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, set to unfold in the Ivory Coast next year.

Included in the official list of referees and assistant referees for the tournament are Gilbert Cheruiyot, Peter Waweru, and Yiembe Stephen.

Gilbert Cheruiyot, a seasoned match official, has consistently showcased his proficiency in the Kenyan Premier League and has previously overseen international matches, exhibiting notable consistency and fairness in decision-making.

Peter Waweru, another experienced referee, is recognised for his astute judgment and adept control over the game. His capacity to navigate high-pressure situations with composure and precision has earned praise from players and coaches.
