Juja MP George Koimburi to face land fraud charges

The land, measuring approximately 1.310 hectares, is alleged to be valued at Sh10 million.
Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi has been summoned by a Nairobi Court to face charges relating to fraudulent land registration.
According to the charge sheet, the MP will be charged alongside Shelmith Karungri Maina and Gathii Irungu.

The three are alleged to have conspired to defraud land parcel reference No. RUIRU EAST/JUJA EAST BLOCK 2/36, Julius Gitonga Githinji's property, on or before March 26, 2020, at an unknown location within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with others not before the court.
The land, measuring approximately 1.310 hectares, is alleged to be valued at Sh10 million.
They face a second count of obtaining registration of land by false pretences contrary to Section 320 of the Penal Code.
The prosecution claims that Koimburi and Maina, on or before March 26, 2020, at the Thika District Land Registry in Kiambu County, allegedly obtained the registration of the land parcel through false pretences and without legal right, with intent to defraud.
They are further charged with another count of uttering false documents.
