AFC Leopards sign Ugandan goalkeeper James Ssetuba on two-year contract

James, 28, described the move as a dream come true and expressed his excitement about defending the goal for the 12-time league champions.

Ugandan goalkeeper James Ssetuba AFC Leopards, in a move likely to strengthen the squad as they continue to climb the ranks in the FKF Premier League. James Ssetuba joins the team after ditching Kakamega Homeboyz on a two-year contract.

"Ugandan goalkeeper James Ssetuba has joined AFC Leopards on a two-year contract," read a statement on their official site.

James will be joining the team's other goalkeepers, wearing jersey number 28 as he competes with Levis Opiyo Omondi, Humphrey Katasi and Abubakar Musha, with whom he has already begun training.

"James Ssetuba joins the competitive goalkeeping department alongside Opiyo, Katasi, and Musha. He will wear shirt number 28 and has already linked up with the rest of his teammates at our training base," the club stated on their official site.

James, 28, described the move as a dream come true and expressed his excitement about defending the goal for the 12-time league champions.

"I am happy to have finally made this move. I feel good and relieved to join such a big and historic team. It is a privilege to be here because it is a dream for any player to get such an opportunity," he said.

He praised the fans for their unwavering support, noting that their dedication, especially when travelling with the team, serves as a major motivation to perform better. He added that his goal is to win the league title with the team and establish himself as the best goalkeeper in the league.

"I love the way they support the team. They travel with the team, and it is a big motivation for us to do better. My target is to become a champion with the team and be the best goalkeeper in the league."
