KUCCPS opens 63 support centres to assist KCSE candidates with course applications

KUCCPS CEO Mercy Wahome announced that the centres will be operational from April 2 to April 13, 2025, providing guidance to applicants seeking placement in various institutions of higher learning.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has set up 63 support centres across the country to assist students applying for degree, TVET, and Teacher Training College (TTC) programmes.

The move follows the opening of the application window for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) cohort and other eligible Form Four leavers.

KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Mercy Wahome announced that the centres will be operational from April 2 to April 13, 2025, providing guidance to applicants seeking placement in various institutions of higher learning.

"We encourage all eligible students to visit the nearest support centre for guidance on the application process. Our officers will be on hand to assist with course selection and placement queries," Wahome said.

The support centres are distributed across the 47 counties and hosted in select universities, technical and vocational colleges, and national polytechnics. Additionally, students can seek application support in all 58 Huduma Centres nationwide, as well as at the KUCCPS headquarters at ACK Garden House on Ngong 1st Avenue in Nairobi.

Wahome further urged students and parents to make use of the official KUCCPS communication channels for inquiries.

"For more information, applicants can reach us through our email at [email protected] or call our customer care lines 0205137400 or 0723954927," she added.

The 2025 placement exercise is expected to streamline the admission process, ensuring students are matched with courses that align with their career aspirations and qualifications.

KUCCPS announced that candidates who scored a mean grade of C+ and above in the 2024 KCSE examinations are now eligible to apply for placement in various universities and colleges.

The KUCCPS portal is officially open for applications to degree, TVET and Teacher Training Colleges (TTC). The Placement Service confirmed that a total of 246,391 students who meet the university entry requirements can now submit their applications.

“The KUCCPS portal is now open for Degree, TVET, and TTC applications,” the placement service said last week.

Eligible students can apply for programs in 40 public universities, 29 private universities, and the Open University of Kenya (OPUK). Additionally, the placement includes training opportunities in TVET institutions, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and TTCs.

The application process is accessible via the KUCCPS student portal at student.kuccps.net. Students have until April 21, 2025, to complete their applications.
