Cabinet Secretaries restructure public boards with fresh appointments

These changes reflect a continued push by the government to realign leadership in public agencies across various sectors.

Cabinet Secretaries have made fresh changes to the leadership of key public institutions, revoking appointments and naming new board members in the procurement, pensions, and education sectors. The decisions were published in a gazette notice dated July 4, 2025, and take effect immediately.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi revoked the appointment of Dr Susan Mambo from the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board. Her removal was made under powers granted by the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act.

“The appointment of Susan N. Mambo (Dr.) is revoked,” stated the notice.

At the same time, Mbadi appointed Hussein Dado as the non-executive chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees for a period of three years. His term begins immediately.

“I appoint Hussein Dado to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees,” Mbadi said in the notice.

The board oversees the Public Service Superannuation Scheme, which manages retirement benefits for public servants across the country.

In the education sector, Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Henry Anyona to the board of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation for a term of three years.

This appointment replaces Consolata Rop, whose position has been revoked.

“I appoint Henry Anyona as a member of the board of Jomo Kenyatta Foundation,” Ogamba said.

The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation is a state corporation that supports access to education through publishing and scholarship programmes.

These changes reflect a continued push by the government to realign leadership in public agencies across various sectors.
