The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has issued a public advisory urging all Kenyan citizens living in Israel and Iran to remain extremely cautious amid rising tensions and escalating hostilities between the two countries.
In its June 18, 2025 statement, the ministry stressed the importance of vigilance, urging Kenyan nationals to avoid non-essential travel, stay updated through local media alerts, and strictly follow instructions from local authorities.

It also called on citizens to prepare emergency documents and supplies.
Conspicuously silent
While the advisory provides embassy contact details for Tel Aviv and Tehran, both Kenyan missions have remained conspicuously silent online, with no updates issued on their official websites or social media platforms as of today.
"The government continues to monitor the situation in the region and remains fully committed to the safety and welfare of Kenyans wherever they are," read the statement signed by Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu.
The ministry has advised Kenyans to register their presence with the nearest Kenyan mission to ensure they can be contacted quickly in case of evacuation or emergency assistance.
However, some diaspora citizens have raised concerns about the lack of proactive communication from the embassies on the ground.
Tensions between Iran and Israel surged dramatically following Israeli airstrikes and retaliatory missile launches from Tehran, prompting regional evacuations and global diplomatic alarm.
