KRA to undergo transformation with focus on professionalism, says new Board chair Muriithi
Muriithi also highlighted the importance of building stronger relationships with stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is set for a major transformation under its newly appointed Board Chairman, Ndiritu Muriithi.
Speaking during his swearing-in ceremony at the Supreme Court Building in Nairobi on Monday, Muriithi outlined his vision to steer the tax authority towards becoming a more professional, fair, and service-oriented organisation.

“My vision is to guide KRA towards becoming a more professional, fair, and firm organisation, built on the core values of trust, ethics, competence, helpfulness, innovation, and simplicity,” Muriithi said.
He added that the KRA Board would focus on providing strong governance, oversight, and accountability, enabling the authority to reach its full potential.
Muriithi also highlighted the importance of building stronger relationships with stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
“We will continue to build strategic partnerships with our stakeholders to develop sector-specific, responsive solutions and programmes for taxpayers, collectively helping to boost the country’s economy,” he said.
In addition, the new Chairman pledged that KRA would embrace technology to enhance its services, ensuring that its systems are user-friendly and accessible to facilitate tax compliance.
“We are committed to making sure that our systems are fit for purpose and convenient for all taxpayers,” he said.
With over 33 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Muriithi brings valuable leadership and expertise to KRA.
He has contributed to significant economic initiatives, including financial sector reforms and economic stimulus programmes.
His leadership experience includes serving as the Laikipia West Member of Parliament from 2007 to 2013, as assistant minister for industrialisation, and as the governor of Laikipia County from 2017 to 2022.
