Malava MP Malulu Injendi is dead

The Speaker extended his condolences to the MP’s family, friends, and constituents, urging them to remember him for his dedicated service and the impact he had on the nation.

Malava MP Malulu Injendi died on Monday while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula said.

In a statement, Wetang’ula described Injendi as a committed and passionate leader who diligently served his constituents.

“It is with profound sadness that I inform you of the demise of our esteemed colleague, Moses Malulu Injendi, who left us this evening, February 17, 2025, at 5.15 pm at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi. He was the Member of Malava Constituency and Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education & Research,” Wetang'ula said.

Injendi, who was serving his third term in Parliament since his election in 2013, was lauded for his contributions to legislative matters, particularly in the education sector and the sugar industry.

“His tireless efforts and contribution to our legislative processes, particularly the Education sector and sugar industry aimed at improving the lives of the Kenyan people, will be deeply missed,” Wetang’ula added.

The Speaker extended his condolences to the MP’s family, friends, and constituents, urging them to remember him for his dedicated service and the impact he had on the nation.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.

Further details regarding Injendi’s passing and funeral arrangements are expected to be released in due course.
