The move comes after the government last week revoked the controversial Gazette notice it had earlier issued which hiked IDs and passport fees.
This came after an outcry by Kenyans who saw the increase in fees for critical documents like identity cards, passports and government staff badges as an extra burden in the midst of the already high cost of living.
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration said the intended review of charges was informed by the increase in the cost of the respective services over the years and the need to make the rendering of the services self-sustaining.
"Views and proposals can be submitted in writing through memoranda clearly marked public participation on new charges and dropped off at Nyayo House, Ground Floor in Nairobi or offices belonging to Regional Commissioners, County Commissioners, or Deputy County Commissioners," Immigration Principal Secretary Julius Bitok said in a statement on Monday.
Participants can also email their submissions to [email protected] on or before 8 December 2023 at 5 pm.
