Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka were present at the event held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Raila and Kalonzo, the opposition leaders, urge Ruto to fast-track the formation of IEBC and also solve issues raised by Gen Z protesters, including corruption.
Kalonzo said that the country is at a crossroads amid the protests, and Ruto ought to provide leadership rather than crackdown on the youthful demonstrators.
Raila added that other bills proposed by NADCO were in Parliament and will soon be presented to the President for assent.
In response, Ruto directed his majority leader, Kimani Ichung'wah, to ensure the bills sail through.
He added that the country was facing economic shocks caused by floods, COVID-19, and other natural disasters and that his administration was finding solutions to steer through the crisis worsened by the withdrawal of the Finance Bill 2024.
