EACC advertises vacancy for outgoing CEO Twalib Mbarak's replacement

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has begun plans to replace outgoing CEO Twalib Mbarak, by advertising a vacancy in the office.

The advert seen by The Eastleigh Voice on Tuesday invites applicants must be citizens of Kenya with a postgraduate degree from a recognised university.
"Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge in ethics, governance law, public administration, leadership, economics, social studies, audit, accounting, fraud, investigations, public relations, and media or religious studies," reads the advert.
Those who wish to replace Mbarak must have at least 10 years of experience at the management level and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The applicants must obtain clearance certificates from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Higher Education Loans Board and the Credit Reference Bureau.
Interested persons who meet the set criteria have been asked to complete EACC Form1 which is available online at jobs.integrity.go.ke and attach copies of their ID, CV, academic/professional certificate, clearances and testimonials.
The names of shortlisted candidates will be published in the newspaper and on the commission's website.
The successful candidate's name will be forwarded to the National Assembly for approval.
Mbarak, who is a former military intelligence officer took over from Halakhe Waqo whose Six-year tenure expired on January 10, 2019.
Mbaraka was sworn in on January 15, 2019, in an event presided over by the former Chief Justice David Maraga.
He served as the KENGEN Security and Integrity Manager before becoming the EACC boss and was among 14 other candidates who were interviewed for the position after it was advertised on October 9, 2018.
