Governor Guyo reshuffles chief officers in bid to improve service delivery

Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo reshuffled five chief officers on Friday in a bid to improve service delivery across crucial departments.

Salad Diba Rogicha was moved from overseeing the Education and Early Childhood Development docket to head the Roads and Transport docket which was previously held by Ali Wario.

Wario will take over the Water and Sanitisation docket which was being held by Godana Diba Abduba.

Godana was moved to the Agriculture and Irrigation docket.

Also affected by the changes is Salad Tutana who has been moved from the Agriculture and Irrigation docket to head the Vocational and Technical Training.

Stephen Kiambi, who previously was in charge of vocational and technical training, took over the Education and Early Childhood Development docket previously held by Rogicha.

The county secretary instructed all impacted chief officers to begin the handover process immediately, with a complete transition required by February 16.

Governor Guyo made the surprise moves Friday evening in an effort to inject fresh leadership and new ideas across these key county departments responsible for public services.

The ability of the reshuffled chief officers to quickly adapt and make progress will be an early test for the governor’s new administration.

Last year, Governor Guyo directed his 31 chief officers to sign performance contracts.

He told his officers that effective delivery of services to residents was not to be compromised whatsoever.

“What we have witnessed is a very serious activity. The terms and the contents of these documents were negotiated with each one of us, so there should be no reason why the results that we are looking for cannot be achieved,” Guyo said then.
