From Saturday, October 11, to Monday, October 13, Nairobi is expected to have cloudy mornings that will gradually give way to sunny conditions, with a few light showers in isolated areas.
Counties located in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Murang’a, Nyeri, Embu, and Kirinyaga, are also expected to experience similar weather patterns, with sunny afternoons following light morning rains.
Meanwhile, regions in the western part of Kenya, the Rift Valley, and around the Lake Victoria Basin are forecast to experience afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures in these areas will hover around 30°C, while nights could cool down to about 9°C.
The forecast also shows that the Coastal and North-Eastern regions will remain largely sunny, though some areas may experience isolated rain. The department cautioned that some rain could come with gusty winds and thunderstorms, especially along the coastline.
For counties such as Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta, the weatherman said sunny weather will dominate during the mornings and afternoons, with only a few places likely to receive light showers.
Coastal areas are predicted to be mostly cloudy at night, with daytime temperatures expected to stay warm between 31°C and 32°C, while night temperatures will range between 11°C and 14°C.
“Rainfall is expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the Southeastern lowlands and North-eastern Kenya,” reads part of the report.
The department advised residents to remain alert during the rainy intervals, especially in regions prone to strong winds and lightning storms.
