Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo faces a Senate impeachment hearing after the County Assembly voted to remove him over alleged misconduct, abuse of office, irregular appointments and mismanagement of public funds.
Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo is on Wednesday, December 3, facing a Senate impeachment hearing after the County Assembly voted to remove him from office.
The proceedings, which began at 11:00 am, opened with the reading of charges against the governor, who is appearing in person and defended by a seven-member team led by Elias Mutuma.

The charges include gross misconduct, abuse of office, irregular appointments and mismanagement of public funds.
The Assembly, which is represented by, among others, Katwa Kigen, is expected to present its case first, submitting evidence and calling witnesses to support Nyaribo's ouster.
