Four killed as bus rams into roadside vendors in Turkana

The injured woman was taken to Lodwar Referral Hospital for treatment.
Four people were killed and one injured on Saturday in a road accident at Lalemgorok in Turkana after a bus veered off the road and rammed into milk vendors by the roadside.
The Tosha bus which was travelling from Mairobi to Lodwar lost control killing four women on the spot.

Turkana South Sub County police commander William Adengo who confirmed the incident, said the fatal accident police had launched investigations into the incident.
He said the injured woman was taken to Lodwar Referral Hospital.
The accident occurred barely a day after the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Kipchumba Murkomen issued a safety advisory notice to drivers during the festive season.
“To protect lives, drivers must adhere to road safety guidelines," warned the CS.
He urged drivers to be aware of the dangers of fatigue and to make sure they have enough sleep.
He said long-distance public service vehicles were required to have two drivers to ensure that one rests after eight to 10 hours of driving.
