Gachagua also pointed fingers at the broad-based government arrangement, which he claims is being used as a tool to push him out of power.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has voiced his disappointment, revealing that his family is devastated by the unfulfilled promises made by President William Ruto.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, Gachagua urged the President to allow him to work effectively for the remaining three years of his term.

“The President made a promise to my family that I would not face the same humiliation he experienced during his tenure as Deputy President,” Gachagua said. “Sadly, what I am going through now is even worse than what he went through in five years.”
According to Gachagua, the President had committed to shielding him from disrespect and ensuring his position was secure. However, the Deputy President claims that political scheming is underway to undermine him, a situation he describes as worse than anticipated.
“There are millions of shillings being mobilised for night meetings aimed at impeaching the Deputy President,” Gachagua revealed. “That money could be better spent addressing the pressing problems facing our country.”
Gachagua also pointed fingers at the broad-based government arrangement, which he claims is being used as a tool to push him out of power.
He expressed frustration that the very framework intended to unify the country is now being weaponised against him.
“The President assured me that the purpose of the broad-based government was to move the country forward,” Gachagua said, adding that the reality on the ground paints a different picture.
Gachagua pleaded with the President to honour his commitments and allow him to serve without undue interference, emphasising that his focus is on working for the betterment of Kenya.
