A strong leap from last season for Sofapaka in FKF Premier League
Strong leadership and players' efforts have seen this turnaround to a team that was near relegation.
Sofapaka has experienced a remarkable turnaround in the FKF Premier League this season, showing significant improvement compared to last season.
Under the guidance of head coach Robert Matano, affectionately known as 'The Lion' for his uncompromising approach, the team has been more competitive, displaying enhanced teamwork and tactical discipline in the field.

This resurgence has allowed Sofapaka to climb the league ranks. The club's progress is a statement of its hard work and renewed ambition. Robert Matano rejoined Sofapaka in the 2023/24 season after parting ways with Tusker FC.
During the 2023/24 season, Sofapaka ended the season poorly, having been ranked 16th in the FKF Premier League table with a total of 36 points. In that season alone, Sofapaka "Batoto ba Mungu " completed all 34 games, won nine games, drew nine games, and lost sixteen games.
With these poor results, they found themselves in the last three teams in the relegation zone. The bottom three placed teams at the end of the season shall be relegated to the third tier league, the FKF Division One League. However, only the two worst teams (Muhoroni Youth and Nzoia Sugar) are directly relegated; the 16th team qualifies for playoffs.
During the playoffs, Sofapaka met with Naivas FC for two legs which they won 2-0 on aggregate.
Sofapaka met with Naivas for the first leg on July 6, 2024, where the scores by the end of the game were 1-0 in "Batoto ba Mungu`s" favour. The second leg which saw Sofapaka confirmed as the 2023/24 FKF PL winners was held on July 14, 2024.
A meteoric rise has however been evident in the 2024/25 season for Sofapaka. Having played fifteen games in the season so far, Sofapaka has won five, drawn six, and lost four. Cumulative points so far ahead of the festivities is 21 and they are in the 7th position.
