Timothy Ouma has officially joined Czech giants Slavia Prague in a deal worth a reported Ksh 473 million. The Harambee Stars midfielder arrives from Swedish club Elfsborg, signing a four-year contract with the seven-time Czech league champions.

Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma has sealed a high-profile transfer to Czech giants Slavia Prague in a deal worth a reported Sh 473 million.

The 20-year-old joins the seven-time Czech league champions on a four-year contract from Swedish club Elfsborg, where he spent three seasons, making 100 appearances and scoring 10 goals across domestic and European competitions.

Slavia Prague’s Sporting Director, Jiří Bílek, praised Ouma’s talent and potential, expressing confidence in his ability to thrive at the club.

“Timothy is a young, talented player and a representative of his country. We believe he will be an asset to our playing style. He has great physical qualities, can speed up the game, and is dominant in one-on-one situations,” Bilek said.

He also highlighted Ouma’s experience in European competitions as a valuable addition to the team, which competed in this season’s Europa League but was eliminated in the league phase.

“He is also battle-hardened by European matches. We have been tracking him for a long time and are convinced he can handle the demands of Slavia. I thank Elfsborg for fair negotiations,” Bilek added.

Ouma, formerly of Nairobi City Stars, expressed excitement about the move and the opportunity to grow at a historic club founded in 1892.

“It feels great. I can’t wait to join the team and take the next step in my career. Slavia has a great squad, and it’s both a challenge and an honour for me to be part of it,” Ouma said.

The Kenyan international, who made his national team debut in 2021, becomes Slavia’s fifth midseason signing, joining Czech goalkeeper Jakub Markovic, forward Vasiljuj Kusej, Liberian midfielder Oscar Dorley, and Nigerian midfielder David Moses.
