The Football Kenya Federation Premier League matchweek 26 served up an exciting round of fixtures, with teams battling for crucial points as the season heats up. From a dramatic win at the Ulinzi Sports Complex to a thrilling double-header in Dandora, the action kept fans on the edge of their seats. Here's a recap of the key moments from the weekend’s matches.

Matchweek 26 kicked off on Friday with a gripping contest at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang'ata. Ulinzi Stars hosted Sofapaka in a closely contested match, where a 40th-minute strike from Bramwel Simiyu proved to be the difference. Sofapaka held firm in the second half, denying Ulinzi any chances of equalizing, and secured a 1-0 victory, taking all three points.

The action continued on Saturday with a thrilling double-header at Dandora Stadium. The first match saw Mathare United face Posta Rangers in a five-goal thriller. Mathare United, sitting 10th on the table with 30 points, were slight favorites against 15th-placed Posta Rangers, who had 25 points.

Posta Rangers made a bright start, with Felix Oluoch scoring the opening goal in the 9th minute. Mathare United responded quickly, leveling the score in the 18th minute through a penalty from Anami Derrick.

The match then swung in Mathare’s favor, with Musa Masika’s 61st-minute strike followed by Paul Kinyajui’s goal in the 66th minute, making it 3-1. Posta Rangers were not done yet, though. Shami Kibwana pulled one back in the 71st minute, reducing the deficit to 3-2. Despite their best efforts, Posta Rangers couldn’t find an equalizer, and Mathare United held on for a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

In another exciting encounter, Kakamega Homeboyz stunned AFC Leopards with a 2-1 victory in a match brimming with intensity.

AFC Leopards wasted no time in making their intentions clear. Just eight minutes into the game, they opened the scoring through forward Victor Omune. The goal came after a slick move starting with Ronald Sencheje, who passed to captain Lewis Bandi. Bandi’s pinpoint cross found Omune, who calmly slotted the ball past the Homeboyz goalkeeper, putting the Leopards 1-0 up.

Despite the early setback, Kakamega Homeboyz showed resilience. Their efforts paid off just before halftime when Moses Shumah capitalized on a lapse in AFC’s defense, scoring in the 45th minute to level the game at 1-1.

The second half saw Homeboyz grow in confidence, dominating possession and creating more chances. In the 65th minute, Henry Omolo struck the winning goal, calmly finishing to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. Despite AFC Leopards’ efforts to get back into the game, Homeboyz held firm, securing a well-deserved victory and extending their strong form.
