The Eastleigh Voice caught up with Melawa during their Thursday evening training session, where forwards George Waiswa and Madenge Joshua shared their thoughts ahead of the decisive encounter.
Waiswa, one of Melawa’s top scorers this season, remained calm and focused.
“I’ve played more than 15 matches and scored over 10 goals. For me, this is just another game. We’ve done our part in training and left the rest to God. I believe in the team,” he said.
“I’ve been present in every training session. Now, it’s about delivering. I encourage my teammates to stick to teamwork - it will make the difference.”
Winger Madenge Joshua spoke about the challenges the team has faced off the pitch but insisted that morale remains high.
“Sometimes, we struggle to raise money for matchday expenses like referees, but we stay focused,” said Joshua.
“The training sessions have been intense. We’ve been waiting for this match. A win would give us a strong push in the title race. I always remind my teammates that anyone wearing boots can play—we just have to give it everything.”
With the title on the line, Saturday’s match is expected to be a tight contest as both sides look to take control of the league with only a few rounds left.
