The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced that the 2023/24 season awards gala will take place on July 26th, 2024, at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.
The gala will also honor the top five ranked teams from each FKF men's Division One zone, celebrating their sportsmanship and achievements throughout the season. FKF Chief Executive Officer Barry Otieno shared the details in a statement.
"We are excited to invite the five top-ranked teams from each FKF men's Division One zone to join us in celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and achievement displayed throughout the season," said Otieno, in the statement.
One of the notable highlights will be Gor Mahia, known as K'Ogalo, who have clinched their 21st title. They are set to receive KSh 5 million for their outstanding performance. Gor Mahia's success has also secured them a spot in the prestigious CAF Champions League, while Kenya Police, winners of the FKF Cup, will participate in the Confederation Cup.
The Kenya Police women's team will be recognized for their undefeated season in the FKF Women's Premier League, making them strong contenders for team awards. Their coach, Beldine Odemba, is a nominee for the women's coach of the year award. In individual categories, Gor Mahia's forward, Benson Omalla, is expected to be honored as the top scorer of the men's season with an impressive 19 goals.
Otieno emphasized that the event will focus on both achievements and sportsmanship, urging all invitees to attend.
"This gala is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and sportsmanship displayed throughout the 2023/24 FKF league season. Your presence will add significant value to this prestigious event," he added in the statement.
