Kenyan rally driver Hamza Anwar is preparing for a strong finish to the season at the Guru Nanak Equator Rally, set to take place from November 29 to December 1. Known for his relentless drive, Hamza is leaving no stone unturned as he aims for his first ARC and KNRC win at the prestigious event.
The two-time ARC Junior champion took a break from the FIA Continental Series after securing a third-place finish at the Pearl of Africa Rally in Jinja in May. But now he’s back, ready to break new ground at the Guru Nanak Equator Rally.
This year’s event promises an exciting battle among the top drivers, with current KNRC leader Samman Vohra expected to race in a Skoda Fabia R5 and reigning Kenya champion Jasmeet “Iceman” Chana behind the wheel of a Fiesta R5. Tanzanian and Ugandan rally champions, including Yasin Nasser, are also set to join the action, further raising the stakes.
For Hamza, who recently triumphed in the WRC3 Class at the 2024 Safari Rally, success is all about pushing himself to the limit. Known as "Problem Child" by rally commentator Rob Styles, Hamza is determined to give everything he has in this battle of the R5s.
"We are coming to win. We’re thirsty for success, so game on," said Hamza, brimming with confidence.
The rally star made his mark in the FIA Junior WRC series last year, competing in the EKO Acropolis Rally, Rally Estonia, Rally Italia Sardegna, Croatia Rally, and Rally Sweden. He also made history by winning the WRC3 Class at the 2024 WRC Safari Rally.
