Apple launches global tool to help Spotify users switch to Apple Music easily

In the past, users had to rely on paid or limited third-party services to shift their libraries, often facing data losses or incomplete transfers.
Apple has introduced a new migration tool that will allow Spotify users to seamlessly transfer their playlists, songs, and personal music data to Apple Music, in what analysts see as one of the company’s boldest efforts yet to attract subscribers from its biggest rival.
The feature, which has already started rolling out where Apple Music operates, enables users to move their entire library, including curated playlists, liked songs, and frequently played tracks, directly into Apple Music without needing third-party apps.

In the past, users had to rely on paid or limited third-party services to shift their libraries, often facing data losses or incomplete transfers.
Apple says the rollout is designed to remove friction for music fans considering a switch or starting all over again from scratch.
“We want to make it simple for anyone to bring their music with them and start enjoying Apple Music right away,” the company noted in its announcement.
The timing is significant: Spotify remains the world’s leading music streaming platform with over 600 million users, but Apple Music has been steadily expanding its share by focusing on high-quality audio, exclusive content, and seamless integration with iOS devices.
The new transfer tool is built directly into Apple Music’s onboarding process.
Users logging into the service can now select Spotify as their previous provider, authorise access, and see their playlists and songs automatically appear in their Apple Music library.
The process is designed to take only a few minutes, depending on the size of the collection.
Industry experts say Apple’s move could put new pressure on Spotify, particularly in markets where iPhone adoption is high.
The tool is currently available worldwide, with Apple confirming coverage in almost every market where both Spotify and Apple Music operate.
