The launch in Kenya follows TikTok’s global rollout of the platform earlier this year. The service is designed as an all-in-one insights hub, enabling artists, labels and their teams to understand how their music is performing, who their audiences are and how fans are engaging with their content, both on and off the platform.
With daily-updated dashboards and comprehensive analytics, TikTok for Artists provides transparent and actionable data. This includes details on song performance, covering views, posts and creator engagements per track, alongside post performance metrics such as views, likes, comments, shares and post completion rates.
Artists will also have access to follower insights broken down by gender, age and language, as well as step-by-step guidance on how to maximise TikTok’s creative tools and features.
The platform also introduces the Pre-Release tool, which allows artists to run campaigns for upcoming albums and enable fans to pre-save tracks directly to their preferred streaming services, including Spotify and Apple Music.
Speaking on the launch, Toyin Mustapha, Head of Music Partnerships for the UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa at TikTok, reiterated that the launch of TikTok for Artists in Kenya will provide musicians and their teams with insights to help them engage fans more effectively and grow their careers globally.
“TikTok has always been a key space for music discovery and promotion across Africa. With the launch of TikTok for Artists in Kenya, we’re giving artists and their teams access to insights that can help them engage their fans in more meaningful ways and grow their careers globally. This platform is about putting powerful, transparent data in the hands of creators so they can make smarter decisions and connect with the global TikTok community,” Mustapha said.
TikTok for Artists is available now to all musicians with a certified TikTok Artist Account. Artists can also give access to their managers and record labels, ensuring campaign planning and execution are supported by the right teams.
With this rollout, TikTok says it is reaffirming its commitment to investing in Africa’s creative economy, equipping local musicians with innovative tools to build sustainable, globally competitive careers.
