Raila expressed the critical need for the international community to acknowledge Palestine's right to exist as a sovereign and free nation. "There can only be lasting peace along the Gaza Strip if Palestine is accorded permanent residence and recognition of their rights to exist as a free and independent people," Raila asserted.
He further highlighted the necessity for all humanity to denounce the violence that has led to the destruction of vital infrastructure, including schools and hospitals.
Raila's remarks arrived shortly after President William Ruto publicly declared his support for Israel, marking a contrasting stance.
The former Prime Minister's call for a more nuanced and balanced approach to the conflict seeks to highlight the importance of recognizing the fundamental rights of both sides and fostering a sustainable resolution.
The interdenominational prayer service in Kajiado also underscored the collective hope for peace to prevail in the ongoing crisis between Israel and Palestine.
