Kenya Met forecasts intermittent showers, cold nights over next five days
While the Highland East counties are expected to experience moderate rainfall, heavier showers and thunderstorms are predicted in the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria basin.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall in multiple parts of the country over the next five days, with specific warnings for counties in the Highland East, Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and the Lake Victoria basin.
Residents in these areas are advised to prepare for intermittent showers and varying temperatures as weather conditions change.

In its advisory issued on Friday, November 14, Kenya Met noted that some regions would have sunny intervals, but moderate to heavy rains would dominate most counties from Friday through Tuesday.
Counties in the Highland East expected to receive rainfall include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi.
Showers in these areas are likely to begin mid-morning, with occasional sunny breaks before further rainfall occurs in the afternoon and evening.
A similar pattern is forecasted in the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria basin, affecting Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, and Uasin Gishu. Other counties in these zones include Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, West Pokot, and Elgeyo Marakwet.

According to Kenya Met, rainfall in these regions will mainly occur in the afternoon and continue into the night, accompanied by possible thunderstorms.
Light rains are also forecast in the South-eastern lowlands, including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, and inland parts of Tana River County.
Temperature Update
Alongside the rain forecast, Kenya Met issued a temperature advisory, warning of cold nights in the Highland East counties.
Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi are expected to see nighttime temperatures fall to 5°C.
Meanwhile, daytime temperatures in coastal counties such as Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as coastal parts of Tana River, are forecast to rise to 33°C over the next five days.
Daytime highs of up to 30°C are also expected in Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, and Kericho counties.
