CAF President Patrice Motsepe has hailed the massive support for football in East Africa, citing Kenya’s 40 million viewership and 140,000 fans in fan parks, alongside huge turnouts in Tanzania and Uganda. He said this momentum lays a strong foundation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), boosts football development across the region and inspires growth in women’s football, where African players are already among the highest paid globally.
