Search for 8 people underway as boat capsizes in Lake Turkana

A couple and their two children are also part of the missing persons.
Eight people including four fishermen are feared dead after a boat they were travelling in from Eliye towards Soit area in Loiyangalani, Marsabit County, capsized in Lake Turkana.
The eight were in the company of two others (fishermen) who were rescued alive after swimming through the waters, according to Lake Turkana Beach Management Unit Network Chairperson Steven Ekuwom.

A couple and their two children are also part of the missing persons.
Rescue operations are underway, Steven told Marsabit's Radio Jangwani FM.
He appealed to Marsabit and Turkana County Governments and State agencies to help in the rescue efforts.
"Any support to enable us to upscale the rescue mission and locate the missing persons is welcome and will be appreciated," he said.
