Motorists advised to plan ahead as City Hall Way closes for WRC event

The affected section stretches from City Hall Way Roundabout to Parliament Roundabout.
Nairobi motorists will experience temporary disruptions as City Hall Way will be closed for three days to facilitate preparations for the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Opening Ceremony.
According to the organisers, the closure will begin on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 8:00 PM, and will remain in effect until Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 3 pm.

“The public should take note of this temporary closure and plan their movements accordingly. This will allow for the safe setup and hosting of the WRC Safari Rally Opening Ceremony,” the event organisers announced.
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes and work with traffic officers and marshals on-site to ensure smooth flow during this period.
“We advise drivers to make prior arrangements to avoid inconveniences. Our team will be on the ground to manage traffic,” authorities added.
The WRC Safari Rally, one of Kenya’s major sporting events, attracts large crowds and requires extensive logistical planning. Officials are calling for patience from road users as preparations take place.
