Kariokor Derby: Kenya's Corazone Aquino scores as Simba Queens beats Yanga Princess 3-1 in Tanzania

Simba Queens now sits at the top of the league with nine points from three wins. Their unbeaten run has established them as the team to beat in the Women's Premier League this season.

Simba Queens secured a well-deserved 3-1 victory against their rivals, Yanga Princess, in a Women's Premier League match at Azam Complex Chamazi.

Aisha Juma got Simba Queens off to a flying start, scoring the opening goal in just the second minute. She neatly finished a cross from Esther Wambui to put her team in the lead.

Juma struck again in the 10th minute, this time receiving a pass from Wambui and calmly slotting the ball past the Princess goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Yanga Princess fought back, and Neema Paul pulled one back for her team with a well-placed header in the 14th minute. The goal came from a free-kick taken by Precious, taking advantage of a slight lapse in concentration from Queens' goalkeeper, Carolyene Rufa.

Simba Queens extended their lead and sealed their victory in the 49th minute, with Harambee Starlets' midfielder Vivian Corazone heading in a cross from Kenya's Elizabeth Wambui to seal Simba's victory. The goal showcased Corazone's aerial ability and dominance leaving the Princess defense helpless.

Coach Juma Mgunda substituted during the match, bringing in Diana Mnali, Koku Kipanga, Olaiya Barakat, and Esther Mayala. These changes provided fresh energy and helped maintain the team's dominance.
