Ruto announces plans to dual key highways nationwide

In Nairobi and surrounding areas, roads including the Northern Bypass, James Gichuru Road, Bomas–Karen–Ngong, and Naivasha–Kikuyu will be dualled to ease congestion

President William Ruto says plans are underway to dual key highways across Kenya to improve traffic and connectivity.

Roads in the Rift Valley, including the Rironi–Naivasha–Nakuru–Mau Summit route and the Mau Summit–Kericho–Kisumu route, are set for expansion, along with the Kisumu–Busia and Mau Summit–Eldoret–Malaba routes.

Central and eastern routes like Karatina–Nanyuki–Isiolo, Makutano–Embu–Meru–Maua, and Nakuru–Nyahururu–Karatina will also be upgraded, while coastal roads such as Mtwapa–Malindi and Mombasa–Lunga Lunga aim to boost trade and tourism.
