Gor Mahia’s Enock Morrison warns Tusker ahead of Kasarani showdown
Enock Morrison says last season’s slip-ups have not been forgotten and insists K’Ogalo are on a mission to reclaim every point they dropped.
Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison has issued a bold warning to Kenya Premier League opponents, especially Tusker FC, ahead of their showdown on Saturday at the Kasarani Stadium.
Morrison says last season’s slip-ups have not been forgotten and insists K’Ogalo are on a mission to reclaim every point they dropped.

“I have it in the back of my mind that for every team we lost to or drew against, we are going to get back our points,” Morrison said. “So if you are a team and you know that last season you either took a point or beat us, prepare, because we are coming for you.”
Gor Mahia host Tusker at 3:00 pm in what promises to be one of the biggest fixtures of the campaign so far. K’Ogalo enter the contest on the back of a 2–0 win over reigning champions Kenya Police FC, a result that pushed them to the top of the table with 16 points from seven matches.
“We take every game seriously and Tusker is no exception,” Morrison added. “It’s one game at a time, and we want to continue the good run, so we have to keep winning.”
Gor Mahia remain the only top side to have played fewer matches due to their absence from CAF engagements, unlike Police and Nairobi United. All other Premier League teams have played at least eight.
Tusker, meanwhile, arrive from a bruising 2–1 loss to Kenya Police, who scored twice in the first half through Eric Zakayo and David Simiyu. The Brewers’ only response came from Eric Kapaito, who converted from the spot.
They sit seventh on the log with 12 points from nine matches and hope that a much-improved display against Gor Mahia will help narrow the growing gap at the top.
Tusker head coach Charles Okere remains confident despite the challenge ahead.
“Coming to tomorrow’s game, I believe we are well prepared as a team,” Okere said. “Gor Mahia is a good team, and we played them last season and had a good run. If we stick to our plan, we are going to carry the day.”
Okere emphasised motivation, mental readiness and tactical discipline as key pillars for Tusker.
“Psychologically, our players know this is a must-win game for us to compete for the championship,” he said. “We have quality players who rise to the occasion. If we prepare well tactically and mentally, we will get a positive result.”
Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor confirmed a full squad is available for selection, including all national team players who returned from international duty and defender Lewis Bandi, controversially signed from AFC Leopards, where he has been out with injury.
“Our national players are back. They joined us this morning, as well as Lewis Bandi, who has been out,” Akonnor said. “Everybody is fit. We have an idea of who will play and who will not. It’s a busy week with another match on Tuesday, and we want to avoid fatigue.”
Akonnor was less revealing when asked about the fitness of attacker Ebenezer Adukwar, who provided an assist against Police after a spell on the sidelines.
“I won’t respond to that,” he said. “But we have three matches in the week, so we have to be smart in how we rotate to keep players fresh.”
The Ghanaian tactician has also analysed last season intensively when Gor Mahia failed to beat Tusker, managing only one point from the Brewers.
“We even saw another relegated team take four points from us last season,” Akonnor noted. “Tusker is a force we must reckon with. We have to play well going forward.”
Speaking on former Tusker defender Michael Kibwage, now a Gor Mahia player, Okere said: “Kibwage is a good player. We respect him and know what he can and cannot do. We wish him well in his new home. For us, the players who came in must continue the work he left.”
Despite Tusker’s smaller fanbase, Okere believes his squad has the mentality to handle Gor Mahia’s vocal supporters at Kasarani.
“We have prepared the players psychologically to handle the 12th man and the pressure on the pitch. Tomorrow, November 22, is a big day for us.”
The day begins with an early kick-off in Awendo, where Mara Sugar hosts struggling KCB at 2:00 pm.
KCB are winless in their last five matches, suffering three straight losses and two draws, including a recent stalemate with Bidco United. The Bankers sit in position 16 in the relegation zone with eight points from eight games.
Mara Sugar arrive from a morale-boosting late draw against Posta Rangers, thanks to forward Dennis Cheruiyot, who won a second-half penalty. Cheruiyot had earlier sunk AFC Leopards with a brace in Awendo and remains key to Mara’s attack.
Bandari travel to Murang’a to face Bidco United after a solid 2–0 win over Sofapaka at Mbaraki. Bidco, currently sixth with 12 points, is targeting another positive result after drawing in their previous outing. Bandari sit 13th on the log with 10 points and desperately need consistency.
Kenya Police aim to maintain their momentum following their victory over Tusker. Mathare United, coached by John Kamau, come into the game after a disciplined 2–0 win against Kakamega Homeboyz. The Slum Boys are among the most tactically balanced sides in midfield this season and pose a serious threat.
